| Dr. Ashby serves as the Medical Director of Cardiac Rehabilitation services and Non-Invasive Cardiology services at Chesapeake General Hospital and has served as Chairman of the Critical Care Committee and Chief of the Department of Internal Medicine. | Dr. Bartel established the first adult cardiac catheterization laboratory and initiated cardiac rehabilitation in the area, serving as Director of the program at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. He has also been Chief of the Sentara Norfolk General Hospital Division of Cardiology, Medical Director of Sentara Norfolk General Hospital Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory and the Cardiac Rehabilitation program. He has published numerous articles in medical journals and participates in educating students and residents at the Eastern Virginia Medical School. He is actively involved in working with people with disabilities and enjoys skiing, biking, physical fitness and playing the flute. | |

Mohit Bhasin, MD Medical School: Emory

Mohit Bhasin, MD attended medical school at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta (1998). He completed an Internal Medicine Residency (2002) and Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship (2006) at Emory University School of Medicine as well, where he served as the Chief Cardiovascular Fellow for 2005-2006. He is Board-certified in Internal Medicine and in Cardiovascular Diseases. Dr. Bhasin has extensive training in advanced cardiac imaging, including the highest level of training in Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance and Multidetector Cardiac CT, as well as Nuclear Cardiology and Transesophageal echocardiography. He has published in national peer-reviewed journals and presented research at several national scientific meetings. His teaching endeavors in the field of Cardiac Magnetic Resonance and Cardiac CT were recognized in “Today in Cardiology” in November, 2005. Dr. Bhasin will be arriving to our practice in August 2006. He will be accepting new patients and will be available for patient consultations and diagnostic testing at our Chesapeake and Virginia Beach offices. |

| Dr. Griffin is recognized as a leader in the medical community for introducing state-of-the-art electrophysiology to this area. He is the Director of both the Interventional Cardiology Program and the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratories at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital. He is actively involved in medical research studies that are designed to improve the treatment of patients with acute myocardial infarction, coronary artery disease, PFO closure, pacemakers and implantable defibrillators. | Throughout his career, Dr. Hartman has assumed a position of medical leadership at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. | During his cardiology fellowship, Dr. Miller was extensively involved in physiology research and earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Molecular Physiology and Biological Physics. He then completed an advanced fellowship in Interventional Cardiology at the University of Virginia. He has experience in coronary angioplasty, stenting, intravascular ultrasound and intracoronary radiation therapy. He is also involved in the management of the Chest Pain Evaluation Unit at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital and has experience in the noninvasive diagnosis of cardiac disease. | |

| Dr. Kanter devoted two years to scientific investigations into the molecular causes of cardiac rhythm disturbances and recently participated as a clinical investigator in defining the benefit of a new type of pacemaker for the treatment of congestive heart failure. His scientific contributions have included numerous publications and recognition with a fellowship from the North American Society of Pacing and Electrophysiology. He is Medical Director of the Cardiac Rehabilitation Program at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital. He enjoys running, golfing, windsurfing and skiing; and he has volunteered his medical services in Africa, the Caribbean and the Navajo nation. | |

| Dr. McKechnie has special training in coronary and peripheral vascular interventions, including stenting of carotid, kidney, aortic, arm and leg vessels for patients suffering from stroke symptoms, hypertension or claudication. He also is trained to interpret peripheral vascular studies utilizing office-based ultrasonic guidance. He has achieved professional status of Fellowship to the American College of Cardiology and Fellowship of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions. He is published in several international peer-reviewed journals and has presented at national scientific conferences. He is co-director for Cardiovascular Education for Eastern Virginia Medical School and enjoys teaching medical students and residents. He is married with three children and enjoys outdoor activities including running, fishing, mountain biking and soccer. | |

Daniel S. Menees, MD is a graduate of the University of Illinois (Summa cum laude) and Rush Medical College in Chicago (1999). He completed an Internal Medicine Residency (2002), a Cardiology Fellowship (2005), and an Interventional Cardiology Fellowship (2006) at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor where he also served as the Chief Interventional Fellow. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Diseases. He has extensive training and expertise in the management of coronary artery disease involving coronary angioplasty, stent placement and imaging with intravascular ultrasound. He has a special interest in the management of peripheral artery disease utilizing angioplasty and stents in the arteries to the kidneys and lower extremities. Dr. Menees will be arriving to our practice in August 2006. He will be accepting new patients and will be available for patient consultations and diagnostic testing at our Chesapeake and Virginia Beach offices. |

| Dr. Onufer serves as the Medical Director of the Cardiac Electrophysiology Lab at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital and Medical Director of the Chest Pain Observation Unit at Chesapeake General Hospital. He has active research interests in the treatment of atrial fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia and is the principal investigator in two major studies sponsored by the National Institute of Health. He is active in educating students and residents at the Eastern Virginia Medical School. He volunteers his time and expertise to Physicians for Peace, helping to develop electrophysiology programs in Egypt, as well as volunteering at the Virginia Beach Free Clinic. In his leisure time, he enjoys playing tennis. | |

Deepak Talreja, MD, a Virginia Beach native, completed his undergraduate education (1993) and medical school at the University of Virginia (1997). He completed an Internal Medicine residency at Vanderbilt University in Nashviile (2000), and a Clinical Cardiology Fellowship (2003) as well as an Interventional Cardiology Fellowship (2004) at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. His special medical interests include balloon valvuloplasty and closure of patent foramen ovale. He has extensive training and expertise in echocardiography, nuclear procedures with special interests in stress echocardiography, transesophageal echocardiography, valvular heart disease, and preventative cardiology. He completed an Internal Medicine residency at the University of Washington in Seattle (1996), a Fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease at Yale University (2002), and a Fellowship in Cardiac Electrophysiology at Columbia University/ New York Presbyterian Hospital (2004). Prior to joining Cardiovascular Associates, he served as an Associate Professor of Medicine at Brown University and Rhode Island Hospital. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, and Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology. He has extensive training and expertise in the management of cardiac arrhythmias and prevention of sudden cardiac death, with special interests in catheter ablation of tachyarrhythmias including ventricular tachycardia and atrial fibrillation as well as implantation and management of both pacemakers and defibrillators. Dr. Woollett is accepting new patients and is available for patient consultations and diagnostic testing at our Chesapeake and Virginia Beach offices. |
